Please Help. I have successfully installed both programs. . .how do I add drum tracks to the sequencer in Reaper? I tried watching a couple of Youtube videos but to no avail. Reaper tells me that it can't find EZ drummer. Thanks.
Hello deckard and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. The answer could be very long and it depends on what you have done so far so the best thing to do is get the User Guide. The summary of the steps are: -- tell Reaper where your VST plugins are: User Guide 1.16 -- insert EZDrummer with multiple audio outputs - UG 3.29 and 15.9 (EZDrummer appears with a different name in the FX Browser, can't recall what that is at the moment) In EZDrummer: -- load the kit you want to use -- route its kit pieces to the different EZDrummer outputs (these will go to the multiple audio tracks) Back in Reaper: -- load a MIDI file with a drum groove onto the EZDrummer track- UG 3.31 -- or create your own - UG 12 At some stage, in the FX browser -- rename the EZDrummer plugin to "EZDrummer" to make it easier to ifnd next time - UG 5.7 --------------- There are many more options and features, but that should get you started.
in reaper it is called dfh sampler or something like that.if you search these forums for dfh, you will come across a thread that explains it all pretty well. cliff
Thanks. Okay. . .so I know how to drag and drop EZDrummer tracks in Reaper now. Stupid question: How do I play what I've created. . .there is no play button visible?
I have the ezdrummer and what I did is added ezdrummer the dll file to the VST file for Reaper. Then add a instrumental track then hit the FX button then look over to left choose VST ezdrummer. Then at the top of Reaper look for insert and chose add midi item. Then it should be a small black track click on that then the sequencer will appear. And if you want to play ezdrummers patterns click on open groves on ezdrummer and drag the ones you want to the the track.
let me ask you a question, since you think I'm brilliant... [hahaha] If you found yourself to suddenly be the pilot of some airplane AND there was a book about how to fly it on your lap... would you read it? Or just you could figure it all out on your own? Do you realize there is a free pdf userguide for reaper? Go to the Resources tab you see in the top heading and get it. It might come in handy...:)
ah ya gotta be like the pygmy at the doctor's office: [a little patient] but really, the pdf of the user guide is great... and in acrobat you can search for words that often get you to the area you want... it just takes a little going through it to get used to the words that are used for various functions... then you can find info fast in the guide... it's not that you have to sit down and read the whole thing at once... so hey, you can burn a cd sort of right from inside reaper
